Pus-in-skin

Pimples, boils, cysts - they all entertain because of how they seem to have some unending supply of something we don't recognize as body fluid. What they leak is pus. What is it? Pus is a body fluid created by an immune reaction. Inside the tissues are specialized cells that engulf debris, like dead cells and foreign material. Anything deemed potentially dangerous, i.e. foreign, is attacked by white blood cells (aka immune cells) to neutralize the threat. The result is a milieu of dead cells and debris, white blood cells, blood, tissue fluid, and if it's due to an infection - pathogen. The fluid then tries to make its way out of the body, forming a boil on the skin.

Fancy term for this: Abscess
